Today’s topic and eventual poem is based roughly off a Novel by George Orwell published in 1945. As in the novel Animal Farm it takes political situations of that time and uses the animals of a farm to signify leaders. In the novel I am certain as are many others, that Animal farm was using the Marxist ideal as in post Russian Revolution. In todays age we can use the same basis for many political ideals and base thus considering where it stands etc. I believe that we can use this to consider if world situatons are any different to the days this novel was first published.
This may or may NOT be my opinions, BUT I am seeking to set the ground for reading this poem. Taking into account recent conspiracy theories relating to NWO etc…BUT this poem is using the novel as ground work for the questions or areas for consideration.
As in other posts, I am looking to encourage readers to approach the poem with open minds, BUT also when possible using background information to consider when reading the poem itself.
Please enjoy.

The Farm Double standard constant right, Playing caressed with trusting might. Revisit the farm where animals rule, Challenge returns back to school. Napoleon ruled beyond the gate, High the cost still of hidden fate. Beware the dragon in disguise, The wolf prowls with unseen lies. Scan the horizon sitting clear, Sheep's clothing will soon be fear. The bell rings loud casting doubt, No one hears an old man shout. Thunder rolls as lightening fills skies, One more equal than another rise. Sheep yet roam their pastures bright, No shepherd guards from safer height. The gate closes to the farm, no escape, Guard dogs wander with no scrape. Who yet stands on safer grounds, Listening to the frightening sounds. © Pat Fitzgerald 2022

Pat, you did a superb job with your poem. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Animal Farm is a real-life depiction of just how twisted we can get when we think we are doing the right thing and then end up becoming the very things we tried to fight against. Yet as the book ended, it was hard to see who were the humans and who were the animals. Oh what a tangled web we weave! The lines can get blurred real fast. Thanks so much for sharing! I’m glad that I re-read the book as an adult, because the message resounds much clearer as I look at where humanity is in this day and age. 🤗🦋😉

Generally I trust animals more than humans. They are usually more honest. Therefore this was a bit spooky!
