Beyond The Ears

There is no greater feeling that walking out into a secluded portion of a park or country side and spend time amongst the choir of birds and other wildlife that are there. Hearing wildlife make their sounds and song has become a choir in itself or a song that has become most welcome.

Being one that has been using hearing aids along with the modern application software that has brought a new dimenion to hearing what was almost forgotten over the years. One such activity that has become regular is setting these aids to a level where such wild life like the smaller birds are heard more clear than they have been for years.

This is where todays Poem has come into being. set in Sonnet form and along the same setup as it were as the last one I published within the last week. Imagine if you can, one with hearing impairment walking through a park filled with excited people whose voices, laughter etc, all become mumbled noice that one like myself had to withdraw away from.

Until I get to an area wherefew walk through and the noise of wild life is all around. The latter sounds becomming like music to deaf ears. This is the basic setting for the poem which I have called “Beyond The ears”.

Having said all of this, Please enjoy this Poem:

Beyond the Ears

Many voices muddled without order,
As I wander about striving for peace,
Like excited bees saw volume increase,
Where people swarmed about a grass border.

Disappearing to quieter places,
And lose focus from this reality,
Where the choir of birds filled the air for free,
Such days felt like none was at the races.

The river flowed near by a welcome sound,
That helped to relax one’s mind beyond all,
Where all seemed pleasant to ears past the wall,
That aids helped the daily path newly found.

Beyond the muddled and ceaseless static,
Lays a world where silence dwells traumatic.
