Encase My Heart

The Poem I wrote for this post had been heavy on my heart to compose all day, thus I had to see it through to the end. It is in sonnet form in the same format as the last one I posted. The original name was “A Sonnet For My heart” But at the last moment I cxhanged the name to the one seen above in the title. “Encase My heart”.

I have been spending some time striving to find a way to explain what this poem is about or what it relates to. BUT This is and will be completely clear when one reads it through. It was not composed with any subject / Persons in mind but completely from imagination and my sometimes over active imagination.

All I can do to say about this poem is to say that it is a Love Poem, where the Person in question offeres his heart to his love asking her to encase it in her loving arms. It goes through a few other details, but in short that is the poem. I hope that it fits the readers liking.

Having said that, Please Enjoy This Poem:

 Encase my Heart



Sweet Love build a hedge now around my heart,
To shield, protect and still keep safe for you, 
Or come build a wall thus grand and tall, true.
But to be apart would ne’er be so smart.


To encase my heart with ice, could be nice,
But our love may never survive in time,
Surround my heart with fire where flames e’er climb,
Yet that will take aim and burn our love twice.


 Let waters flow around my heart yet free,
But our love may drown or distance too great,
Encase my heart where your loving arms wait,
There it shall abide and thus safe with thee.


Safe in my lovers arms free from all harm,
Abide there my heart, nought can cause alarm.
