A Clue to Value

Introduction:

For todays post I wanted to write a poem that takes on something that has been on my mind for some time. When one walks throughout society, One can discover that more and more a few little qualities are been lost from amongst us. With peoples very obvious lack of care for any religious focus in their lives, In turn what is found is a growing lack of certain qualities in life that was always something that draws one to people.

Then maybe some readers will disagree and have their own views on this. BUT todays poem takes on this issue and I hope that folks will certainly discover what qualities very quickly when reading this poem.

Also worth a note is that the vast majority of my poems are always within a set limit of lines and stanza’s. This one goes beyond that limit a little bit. But I know readers will understand and possibly not care much for how long a poem is. A major issue of mine whilst writing poetry is when I go beyond a limit and the poem or piece grows in length, then I begin to lose focus after a time and so does attention and patience. Thus in this poem I am rather happy with myself because I got through this without losing either and completing both writing and editing in turn.

About The Poem:

In many of my poems I find myself writing on issues that I see in society or lacking in society. Todays poem is one such Piece of work that carries something that I find to be in decline in society. But I am in hope that readers will disagree with me when they discover what is spoken of in todays Poem.

Also for todays poem I have changed my rhyming a little to an A, B , .. A, B, rhyming pattern. because I felt that this fitted better in what I wanted to be found for this poem. I again hope that my usual readers will enjoy this slight change also.

I feel comfortable in composing such poetry that handles issues in society, because I believe that a poet can aid folks to check where they are going in relation to how they move within society. Not so much as to change minds or to force a change, BUT rather to guide them to check their paths and footsteps on occasions and thus make such changes for themselves.

Certain qualities within the human that walks amongst us is what makes us as people more appealing.

Whether folks agree or not remains to be seen. But for now Please Enjoy this Poem:

A Clue to Value

In days long past, when tales were told,
How legends lived and breathe with creeds,
And virtue held dear, a value bold,
With kindness, love, and gentle deeds.

In halls of kings, where power did reign
As wealth and fame were sought or bought,
A different path to often gain,
One of compassion, love, and thought.

For in the eyes of those who saw,
The worth of man was not in gold,
But in kindness that he sowed and grew,
Also the love that he did hold.

Thus let us learn from days of old,
And value kindness, love, and deeds,
For in such things, we find our gold,
And there find our true wealth is seeds.

In a world thus seen cold and grey,
Who e’er shall the light that yet shine,
Dare one, sow - kindness every day,
Thus spreading love that's truly divine.

It’s ne’er what is owned in the breaking dawn,
But in treating everyone with Love,
What truly matters, and not over drawn,
Yet brings us joy, like a gentle dove.

Thus why not - strive to be kind and true,
Showing the world of a love we hold.
For in these things, we find our clue,
To live a life that's full, and bold.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, that is incomposing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUt I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry for me is a constant learning curve that I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.
