Have you ever read a piece of writing, be it poetry or Prose, that begin’s with one narrative and finishing with another? Todays poem is relating to that in a manner of speaking, A poem where one reads what appears as another form of Christian poetry. BUT one could be reading any other form of religious writing, Christianity, Islam or Hindu or yet again any of a host of other religions. BUT them steers into pointing out a few issues, I use Christianity because I am a believer, but it could have been any of the others. This is the example I have set to use for this set of points to chew upon.
We now live in a world that if one believes in something that the majority disagrees with, then that person is judged and ridiculed even outcast by society itself. If this behaviour is fear related or basically one of hatred of that belief. This is a sad and horible attitude that has crept into society where “Live and Let Life” has no place in or within the walls of society. This is also something that is widespread accross all society even well beyond religion. People have an inability to accept a belief that may not be for them or just let it be and walk on by.
This is where todays poem comes in and settles on. We walk by with an air of supremacy over other beliefs and dismiss people who walk within those beliefs. In this poem I lay a few issues out for the readers to find and chew over for themselves. Even to ask of each other can I do better? This is a question that we can ask of ourselves in all areas of our walk in life, “Can I do Better”? This is not asking should I accept? OR should I dismiss? It is asking how I look upon or act towards others in society who may walk with a belief that differs from us. Thus creating a better and more positive society
Having said that please enjoy this poem.

Whose Throne? Trusting in a call that inspires to seek, Believing in words when one left me weak. Feeling lost beyond the cross roads of life, Caught knee deep in the marsh that is that strife. Struggling through the mire waiting for aid, You stopped sometimes and prayed waited in shade. Willing to find your way through any path, Wandering, no thought of the aftermath. Catch the lingo or hear the code, repeat, The veil was torn and you walk through and greet. Join the hoards brushes with buckets in hand, Tar and feather no court applied as planned. In a tortured world you wander on blind, Driven in fear and judge what lays behind. Answer the call or let it abide now, Double faced attack can not suit highbrow. Sink or swim the story is told and more, Believe in the Word or thus you abhor. Live and let live now have yet past and gone, No service suffice humanity’s yawn. © Pat Fitzgerald 2023
