When love dies and one party moves on and thus the remaining party is at times caught up in a world or a time that could be termed as “What Could have been”. The chains that still bind the remaining party to the heart of one that has moved on, becomes a restricting vice that holds them down in a purgatory that imprisons them.
Such is the topic of todays poem, It is my hope that this poem truly marks what it is like, rather than an imaginative creative writing set in poetic form. When a heart is imprisoned within the walls of what was, what can never be or what is wished to be, then that heart is chained to something that restricts.
This is where this poem is set at, thus I hope that folks can truly see what is set here and this has not been a creative piece that does not find a home for thought or discussion.
Having said that Please enjoy this poem.

Bound. My mind begins to wander blind laying there, Drawing lines like scars in the air I swear. Gazing at the stars where mind and sanity spars, Playing join the dots until I reach mars. I imagined how smooth tracing stars seemed, Without you here all became as one dreamed, But scrambled by lonely ramblings alone, Mind wandering caught like whirlwinds had blown. Bring to flight a lonely mind that remained blind, Behind a smokescreen of happiness unsigned. Where the shattered heart you left thus sits, As pieces remained untouched in bits. I pray that cupid releases the chains, That binds a cheating heart to my veins. Bound by unsuited love a one-way street, Soon this heart will once more begin to beat. Bound to guilt in the midst of what could be, Limited by chains that bind to yesteryear’s fee. When winter gives way to spring and sing, So this heart shall wander free and again bring... © Pat Fitzgerald 2022
Thank you for getting this far into this post. Todays poem is one that some may find to be a little bit more dark than normal. BUT sometimes one must go to this extent to reach the topic and story one needs to be within a peom such as this one. It is my hope that some at least have found someting worth thinking on, pondering over or at least chewing about . This is the hope I have for each of my poetry and this one is no different, I hope that it finds a home where folks can find a gem in which to hold onto.
At times when I post and publish a post like this one, mistakes and typos can make their way onto the published article. I assure folks that I correct and update posts the moment I discover such mistakes and typos. Thank you for your understanding on this issue.
Until next time please stay safe and keep well. Also when possible show a little loving care to those who are in need of some loving care at this time. A little positive attitude and action goes a long way.
Until next time Cheers.

💜 I was married then divorced and devasted EveryOne then recovered from the trauma; so I NOW!!! understand that marriage is NOT!!! a Relationship EveryBody because of the Small Print and The Infinite Conditions of either Spouse…ergo, I Believe that marriage is a Connection and can be carried out without Wedding Ceremony in a Registrars Office with two witnesses who may be strangers off the street
