There are times when many who struggle through the path of Mental health issues, find themselves listening to their own negative thoughts that batter the doors of their confidence. In otherw ords there comes a time when people listen to their inner being question the deeds of your own being.
This is the basis of todays poem. A poem that seeks to capture the self reflective battle within ones mind. In other ways it can be seen as an attempt to create poetry where ones confidence is questioned by their inner voice. I hope that you enoy todays poem, but as always I ask for understanding that people of different cultures may have different understanding, thus being polite lessens any chance of insult.

Voices The standard to which we walk, Screaming within the tide we talk. Running the race but not in vain, The steps we take all become gain. Weathered by storms within that hide, Battered by the infested tide. Yet now swinging from the rafters, Inside I hear the growing laughters. The inner beating of the drums, The rhythms of war again numbs. Self reflect now the inner glow, Mindset switched to forever grow. When failure greets our silent pride, Stings from the swarms that hide. The scars of self inflicted cuts, A figment of irrelevant unseen huts. Cast the measure to the side, Live without knot that ever tied. The hidden voice casting doubt, Where confidence may always shout. © Pat Fitzgerald 2021

Quite a striking poem, Pat!
Loved the lines – “The inner beating of the drums,
The rhythms of war again numbs.” and “When failure greets our silent pride”
It’s a good poem for recitation and has a slow paced, wonderful rhythm

The battles people fight mentally without talking about them.
I wish we went through this and win at the end.

I agree with you. I believe that people are conditioned to run the race as it were and people are never thought to talk about the inner battles. These are reasons for so much mental health issues.
