Would You Dare?

(I have edited the title of this post to avoid confusing with an older post with same title Thank you for understanding, I forgot I actually had used that title elsewhere.)

Yesterday I sat to compose a poem which had a completely different idea and form in mind. BUT as often is the case, I could not complete that poem, because nothing appeared to fit into place. Therefore this afternoon I changed things about when a tough topic came to mind.

As the title above states “Would YOU?” .. The poem seeks to bring the reader to question of themselves that little question. BUT then at the end of the poem it asks “Would you believe?” as in would you believe a story I spin? Then asks WHY? In other words what differs from that to any other issue in life?

For example if a country leader spins a narrative? Would you take that as truth OR seek to question why? Thus why? What makes it different? What makes each different to result in a different answer each time, IF Each were a potentially false narrative?

It is not an answer I seek. BUT thus to get the reader to step beyond and ask those questions of themselves. What makes something different to result in different answers? If both wre pretty muh the same ina manner of speaking.

Having said that please Enjoy The Poem:

Would You

Would you follow me where nature rings loud,
And wander beyond the awaiting crowd.
Or question motives where my truth should lay,
At the end of a day does the heart stay.

If I were down and feeling low, would you?
Or dare draw close comfort from feeling blue.
Could you look in the eyes of the hungry?
Ease their pain, feed them, throughout the country.

Would you aid? If I were captive in chains?
Held in the grasp of my enemy plains!
Should you risk all for one in need yet dare?
Would you still believe take my word as fair?

Would you accept the narrative as truth?
When fables are passed as fact! Be the Sleuth?
Could you trust if power guided your way?
Would you follow me not knowing what day?
Do you step outside and question the task?
Would you believe? Why? Is all I now ask?
