I had todays poem prepared late last night, but I had little time to publish it until now. When sitting down to compose this poem yesterday, I was placing myself into a mindset, where I could write from imagination and also trying to place things correct, while I compose the poem in the correct manner.
It was important to me to get things as close to how I want the poem as possible. Many reading todays poem may have known or still know the type of individual who goes through a whole lot of pain and heart break, and yet has one person who is there at every step to pick up the pieces. That every caring person who is always there and never lets one down.
Now place that person who walks through so much heartbreak into a situation where he / she pretty much ignores or disregards their source of aid / help between such times of trials. BUT then again take that person who loyaly helps out and yet holds a secret that he /she holds a deep love for that person whoom they always run to help and comfort.
They will always be there regardless of how poorly they are treated and redarded. But will a time come when that help will no longer be there? Or will a time come when that love will be set free ? This is where Today’s poem comes into play.
As a poem that is 110% the result of imagination, I hope that it rests as close to how things will be given the roles of the poem.
Having said all of this, Please Enjoy this Poem Below:

Who Shelters Who shall be a shelter when the rain falls, Or yet guard the walls when troubles still calls? Find me here to shield from all rains, believe! I will not grieve when you turn and then leave. When you tire in the midday sun, why Hire? I can replace all you seek and admire. For the tears you cry yet will fill the sky, No fear I bring cheer and shall dry your eye. But it’s me you still deny, still I try, Yet you pass by and will ne’er hear my sigh. Beyond the shelter of your broken heart, The train that is my love will soon depart. Shards like crystal pierce my heart, were your tears, Through the years your cries now fall on deaf ears. Now welded by your hated gaze in place, Like lace across my face left without grace. But as trouble knocks upon your dear face, No one seeks to heal your wounds, here I place. Forgotten as days return to old ways, I await the gaze that cuts deep and stays. © Pat Fitzgerald 2023

Oh that’s exciting to hear. She’s based in Mumbai so that’s her biggest readership. I honestly believe blogs were the best thing ever invented, giving everyone a platform to become their own publisher! I’ve published through traditional means and find it much more rewarding to do so via my own space. How about you?
