This afternoon I sat with music playing to fill background noise, whilst I set about creating todays poem, Thought after thought was followed by change after change until I settled on todays eventually completed poem. It often takes more time than expecte3d to begin with a piece that soon flows on its own as it were onto a finished article.
Often in life and in what has become known as the game of love, one is often burned when love dies or had a bad ending. That person burned in love is often reluctant to step back into this so called game of love. This is where todays poem comes in and speaks it’s piece.
Often the poetry takes its own route and speaks something different to what I would have said, but still it created an ending piece that has me eager to see how folks find this in its form.
Having said this little piece, please enjoy.

Bit Part in Life Crying in the rain a feeling defined, When hearts burnt in the fires of love in kind. Castles in the air turned to glass shattered, In stormy seas tossed, blown about, battered. A head spinning like a top feeling lost, Whirlwinds of emotions roll through storm tossed. Glass hammers breaking nothing but spirit, Prime time screen in windows, need to hear it. Making snow angels with no show remain, Rains like hope flowing down the drain again. The sun shines in winter too but so cold, One sold to heart break yet outside the mould. A rebound may take time still worth the shot, The wanderer caught but never on spot. Define oneself, rebuild your temple there, Climb the stair it’s worth the prayer, be aware. Time flows fast by the window pain for all, Await no call to feel the wind, recall. - When the ice yet melts from a cold hard heart, Play the bit part in the history cart. © Pat Fitzgerald 2023
Thank you for reading this far into my post, I am always thankfull for all who enjoy, read and comment on my poetry. Poetry for me is a journey that for the past few years have become one that I have enjoyed sharing with the world. That instead of what was always the case of composing and hiding or deleting my work. Therefore thank you for joining me on this little journey.
On occasions Mistakes and typos make their way onto the finished and published post. This has never been on purpose but at times they missmy eye when editing posts. BUT rest assured I correct and update the posts the moment I discover any such mistakes. Yet some do take a little longer than other because I have or may not find them. Thank you for understanding this.
In finishing please stay safe and take care, also when possible show a little loving care to those about you in society who may be in need of such loving care. A little positive output in life is a great start for folks in a world hit with rushing about in their own world.
Until next time Sláinte (Cheers / good health)
