A Question of Flame

Todays Post should be read together with “In Wonder of Thee”which was posted here on this blog last week. To read or refresh yourselves with that poem please follow the link, or open the post from last week with that title “In Wonder of Thee”.

Two Sides of The Same Flame

Love is rarely just one thing. Sometimes it is a question we ask the stars and sometimes it is the answer that burns within our own hearts

Over the past two weeks, I have been exploring two perspectives. The First poem, “In Wonder of Thee” looks outwards. It is a series of questions about the beloved, admiring their grace, their beauty and the light they bring into the world. It asks “What makes you so extraordinary?

In the second Poem, Found below. “A Question of Flame” , Turns inwards. It describes the effect the Love has upon the soul. It speaks of transformation, healing and the fire that awakens a once still heart. It answers, “This is what you have done to me”.

Together, they form two sides of the same coin: the wonder of who she is and the profound change she brings.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

A Question of Flame

A fire now fiercely burns within,
And sets this once-still heart to spin.
A wildfire, never willed, takes hold,
And casts aside what I controlled.

What stirs this heavy heart to sing,
No wine nor doubt could ever bring?
What quiet calm now takes its stead,
And plants new thoughts within my head?

Where go the lonely thoughts that fight,
And haunt my restless eyes at night?
Her vision warms this wandering heart,
Yet from my soul will not depart.

What force is this that breaks the chains
That once enclosed this heart in pains?
The barren dust that stretched afar
Now leaves within my soul no scar.

A flame that burns through every night
Now leaves me wondering—where the fight?
For this once-torn soul softly sings,
A question born of hidden things.

A Note from The Author:

Thank you for joining me on this journey of writing and discovery. Poetry, for me, is a continuous learning process. A way of finding my own voice and writing style and exploring the beauty of words.

I also write from the heart and never with the intention to cause offence. However, if anything I write ever causes discomfort, please know it is never my purpose. I am only human and occasionally typos or small errors may slip through; I do my best to correct them as soon as they are found.
