In Autumn’s Awe

For this post I wnat to celebrate as it were The very arrival of Autumn, Or as in some countries may know it as Fall, But I rather like the Autumn as a season. Full of colour and crisp, crunchy, footsteps on leaves that fall from the trees. Or the shuffle of feet through the leaves. There is so much to lie about this season, but as days and daylight grow shorter and darkness of night claim extra time for itself.

But a Poem that marks that wonder and beauty gifted as it were from Nature itself. Or a Gift from God as a mark of beauty and change between seasons. From the warm and humid summer days to Autumn that will eventually give way to Winters cold crisp days. What a beautiful way to find a way or avenue for creative elements to shine bright.

Needless to say Today’s Poem is about the beauty that is Autumn, In all the color and might.

About The Poem:

Like recent Poems I have used an Aa, Bb rhyming format, with a more clear and heavier alliteration throughout the Poem. Another experiment of mine to play about with.

I have left behind for now, my political touch in any poetry, which even leaves a bitter taste after reading such poetry. I also like to use Nature as a Focus to capture peoples eye, rather than any mention of creation or any hint of a faith based belief. As a Christian I want to create poetry that does not lay on any belief that guides mankind in any religious systems. But To guide folks to the beauty that can be found about us.

As an Irishman I am more than interested in Celtic folklore and Celtic traditions and Myths that helped structure such beliefs. These also lay focus on some season. Autum can be such a time where some focus can be highlighted on.

Also I am a poet that finds solace in the quiet stilled silence of nature, Also Irish are a superstitious people, which is often backed up by folklore or myths. Plus Poets have written heavily over time on this subject, thus I am no different there.

Yet This Poem on Autumn is a HInt at keeping to that goal as it were And when one has a love for this season I love to stroll in the much cooler days of autumn and the changes in colour that it brings along with the child like heart that it often brings.

Having said all of this; Please Enjoy This Poem:

((I use AI to create Images to suit my poetry because it saves me much time from searching through very many photographs or images that could work for Poetry, BUT like it does at times AI presented a lot of choice, But this was one I ended up deciding on, But This should give a hint that This is about Love.. Credit etc and copyrite etc goes to AI or where it should go.))

In Autumn’s Awe

A misty mantle moves, a mellow morning’s might,
as autumn’s amber air arrives with whispered will.
Bold breezes bend the boughs in burnished light,
while golden glimmers gather, gentle, soft and still.

A cloak of creeping cloud conceals the clear blue sky,
and copper-coloured crowns of trees in twilight twine.
Bright branches bow as brittle leaves drift by,
their gilded grains like gentle snow in slow decline.

He stands in solemn silence, soul and senses stirred,
and feels the fleeting fire of days he cannot keep.
Old echoes in his heart, once faint, are faintly heard,
while future winters whisper from the forest deep.

A mindful man of mortal years now marks the sign,
and tastes the tender truth of seasons’ silent art.
Through time’s slow tide he trusts a pattern, half-divine—
a quiet grace that lingers, warming the watchful heart.

Last light lays low; the land grows hushed and clear,
while dusk’s deep dream descends, both gentle and grand.
He leaves with lifted gaze, untroubled by the year,
for beauty’s brief embrace still guides his heart to stand.
