Paper Weight Shadows

For two days I have battled through todays poem, striving to complete it in a manner that suited the aim I set for it before hand. Yet todays poem comes with one set group of people in mind. Not to cast judgment on them, BUT for the reader to ask of themselves, “Why?”.

To understand this poem, one must look into society and thus ask of themselves, “Is there or are there those who have faced many trials and heartache’s and even as the arrows of heartache strike them, They never cease smiling through it all! Or so it appears to an onlooker that one who suffered much have still managed to smile bright beyond all the hurt they have had. If you have seen those in society in such a way, then you should understand this poem a little better.

We are often puzzled to know why they managed to smile past any hurts or heart aches! We even question sanity or any such labels in a search for answers. But we fail to peek behind the walls or doors of their private lives and see what the true extent of their suffering shows. So often many suffer in silence smiling through misery in the public eyes. Basically said in fewer words, Many suffer in silence and privacy and deserve such respect for this.

Having said this. Please Enjoy This Poem:

Paper Weight Shadows



Beyond troubles lasting eternity,
Rushing through their days for posterity.
Blinded by misfortune smiles shine always,
Regardless of the blaze they will amaze.


As storm clouds gather over head they smile,
Crossing the country mile singing in style.
When fiery darts collide e’er striking hard,
Marred they stand defiant of all that scarred.


Strike the anvil while it’s hot,  no clear shot,
To pour frowns o’er sparkling eyes to let rot.
With crosses heavy burdens ne’er be light,
Reaching heights that shine beyond all their plight.


Behind closed doors no one knows or dare ask,
What lays behind all and is it a mask?
Counter action waits all seeking lost gods,
Who doth batter still defeat at all odds.


They raise above your arrows clear to see,
Smiles that light the darkest days, you agree!
Batter once they take the punch and thus roll,
Envy captures all who ne’er appear whole.
