Where It Stands

For today’s post, I have a short Poem that I have battled with and tossed around for a while, until it came to rest as it is. Much of my poetry seeks to strike and set seeds to be sown into the hearts and minds of readers where ever they are. Some become very visable and others not so muc the case. Yet today’s Poem is one, that I hope will rest on hearts and minds of people, If not for the content, maybe for the striving to reach a poetic goal. I do hope that this reaches you well, Please enjoy….

Where It Stands




A couple of drops drip and drown as thoughts rain,
Where passion pours again, loosening pain.
Shining stars in a pond where ripples start,
As truth, once torn, reflects the wounded heart.



Passion played proud and filled each fragile dream,
As rains ran wild through streets and swollen streams.
Stained marble mirrors, mercy held in view,
Though tides take bribes and bind old vows untrue.



Where goes the truth that set our hearts at rest,
That walked with men and bore the heaviest test?
That steady star no shadow could erase,
Not merely seen, but set in time and place.



Some withhold truth, yet water words as fact,
Leave form intact while hollowing the act.
Still One stands firm beneath the breaking sea,
A beam that bears the load,  yet reaches me.
