Remember me

Today’s post has taken a few days to put together. Mostly due to what I viewed where I should travel with that post. But the post is regarding what shall happen when Time has passed and so shall you. Would your loved ones remember you? With Love or other ways?

About The Poem:

Todays Poem begins and ends with a simple thought, When the sands of time has come and passed you by (Or in the case of The party in the poem). When even the sands of time has passed for this same party in the poem and Deaths cry has come calling and again time has passed. Then this is where the poem comes into being!

Like my heros of old and heros from within the last 100 Plus years, Would you (or in the poem would he / she be remembered) or would they become a footnote or less in history.

Not with any intention of being morbid, But would you be remembered BY what you leave behind you? But for me as a believer in keeping celtic beliefs and traditions alive along with our language, this queston rises for an age old culture that has survived invasion, Occupation by invading forces and more than a little attempt to destroy such traditions and language.

Then given such Would you remember such? I believe that the celtic traditions are in danger with the Oncoming thousands of those looking for better lives, BUT YET fail to accept or even care for our Culture and beliefs. Such is the reasons that I see why the Poem for today comes into Being.

Having said all of that: Please Enjoy The Poem:

Remember me

When sailing life’s oceans, remember me,
Or time yet past and I'm gone from the sea,
Would you sit with me, where e’er I shall rest,
If my memory fades and you will test.

When the sun sets low, on all that you know
Will you care, if I ne’er walked - to show?
Would you remember me, would you yet care?
Or sit awhile - by shaded trees there.

Would you dance, beneath - the starry night,
Or e'er shed a tear, on a cold days light?
Who shall share a time, ‘neath a lonely view?
Or an imperfect day love to renew?

Would you remember me, as years go by,
Would you care, when - deaths tears starts to dry?
Or sit with me, where flowers mark my rest,
And talk o’er my bones where birds sing their best?

Would you remember me, as seasons change,
Would you call actions - that failed the range?
Where time tests ground around as footsteps fall,
Would your memory leave as new loves call?

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, that is incomposing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.

    1. Thank you. I dont think that many would believe that this poem also is a call to note that cultures are in danger of death and disappearing from our sights. who then would remember such cultures. a hidden note but real. thank you again.

  1. Great poem, Pat!! I always love poems about time – past, present and future!! Wonderful Title and message, feelings and emotions! I think we all wonder, well at least poets, if we will be remembered. If our words will reach out and touch someone’s heart or soul and make them wonder about us! Bellissimo, Pat, Bellissimo!
