The Traveller

Introduction:

Todays poem has sprung to mind as it were after listening and playing a song from Chris Stapleton “Traveller”. It has come to mind that a poem with such a topic should be a cool one.

What has been on my mind that when speaking about life, we are a Traveller on the road of life. Therefore if one was living life on this road were fast miving, living life at the top pace without taking time out to touch or feel the grass beneath our feet. Or we often forget to pause for moments to smell the flowers in Bloom.

We are Travellers on lifes Road and all too often we spend our time with the loads we carry , of worry and stress that we take up from life we become weighed down.

Therefore the poem today taken on this topic. it aims to bring to thought that we may be carried through life without pausing to enjoy what is about us. Also Time moves fast and before we know what happens we are years along this road of life and still we have yet to stop to feet the grass beneath our feet or smell the flowers in bloom.

This is todays poem, BUT I have noted that It is slightly shorter than usual. But It also has much more food for thought left inside to write on this topic.

About The Poem:

Todays poem is about this Road of Life that we live. As Travellers on this road of life, we often fail to pause to feel the grass beneath our feet, or to ponder the moment we are in. Yet before we realise it we are years on that road and much closer to the finish than we begun and yet we may never have paused for long enough to do the simple things.

Although this poem is shorter than usual, it has left me with a few more thoughts that may see another series of poem on this topic OR at the very least there may be a second one.

Having a few poems we should have a number of poetry that causes us to focus on issues that are or should be important. Like smell the flowers in Bloom or Feel the grass beneath us.

Food for thought is what could be a guidance towards the road we walk on.

Therefore having said all of this. Please enjoy this poem:

The Traveller

Watching the sun rise here - on lifes road,
A load I carry cannot break the code.
This current is strong - for a traveller,
Yet all moves fast - without a handler.

Taking time to touch the grass, where I can,
This river ran fast, from where it began.
Yet time goes before, - we know it’s gone,
Nothing to save but memories that dawn.

As a Traveller she walked this road alone,
Rushing through days, living her ways, unknown.
He paved his road the good old way and won,
Ne’er smelling roses, when he could outrun.

Sands of time passed by before, our thoughts grow,
Look down below at the flowers on show.
This road the traveller carries through to end,
And Keeps on going - around the bend.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, that is incomposing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.

  1. The narrative preceding the poem, alongside the accompanying image and the poem itself, were all incredibly beautiful. I found great joy in experiencing this creative journey you shared with us. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.
