Battleground Within

Introduction:

After the previous couple of posts I took a couple of days free of writing and other creative tasks and things. In those couple of days I stayed clear of composing or creating, ALL in order to recharge a tiny bit as it were. But todays Poem has been written to be a final installment of “The Last Goodbye”.

If you have NOT read “The Last Goodbye” Please check out the post of that same title. Also “The Last Goodbye : Chained” Both are part of a short series of poetry on that topic. Thus Todays Poem, “Battleground Within” is the final part of this series.

I enjoyed working on this part and poem and it enjouraged me to see it through. My thanks go to those who suggested this asa series to The Last Goodbye”. If others can manage or have managed poetry on same topics, I would love to read them.

About The Poem:

Unlike the previous post “The Last Goodbye: Chained”, I did have a couple of thoughts to carry into composing this poem. More important is the opening line which appeared to cling to this train of thoughts for this poem.

In the opening stanza I wanted to keep it noticed that He (the person clinging to some hope of his past lovers return), I wanted it to be seen that time has passed and still he clings and waits for her return. From “Unwashed Dishes” to “wishes and Hopes” that soon fade until silence as it were.

This is continued into the second stanza To show that moment when with “Listening and watching with a stone cold groan. As hope fades to reality a sigh”

At least I hope that this helped to show a moment of realising that change was needed and she was never returning.

From there on the poem seeks to Lift in mood and I hope in providing a hint of hope for the future.

Through these series of poetry I hope folks will find that when things go wrong and often very wrong, there will be a time when everything begins to brighten up and lift to show that there actually is hope and remaining clinging to a hope that a love will return after that Last Goodbye. but sadly most often that never happens and some remain clinging to a chain that is their bondage of a Love that has died.

Often outside of a loss of a love, some are stuck in similar chains when a loss of other kind, knock on their door as it were. Thus I hope these poems help i that end.

Having said all of that Please enjoy this poem. If any have poems that work along this vein of thoughts, I would love to know and read them.

Until then Enjoy:

Battleground Within

Silence speaks when everything sleeps and keeps,
Prisoner to a love long gone, he weeps.
Shackled to a time well past and wishes,
With hopes empty like his unwashed dishes.

With calls left unanswered he sits alone,
Listening and watching with a stone cold groan.
As hope fades to reality a sigh,
Fills heart and lungs alike, could one apply?

Ne’er the dawn that was, yet change came at night,
Arrange the clutter within, chains took flight.
Lost and hopeless waiting for a return,
Shackles loose, mind and heart broke free and learn.

A bonfire of experience now burns,
All that binds lay smoked in ashes that turns.
His heartbeat keeping time to a fresh start,
Her last goodbye became his prison part.

For streets alive where steps keep this new line,
Starting slowly avoiding rains no shrine.
Change the battleground within finding peace,
Joys in the rivers, streets and lanes, release!

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for joining me on this journey, which is my journey thoughwriting and learning more regarding composing poetry. They say that life is a journey which for me translates into poetry a journey onto itself.

Some of my poetry contain topics that at some point will or may not contain issues that readers either agree with or do not, or they have experienced or They will disagree with completely. YET that is completly fine by me. But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

My path through writing and publishing Poetry on this blog is a journey beyond any expectations. And numbers have grown past anything I ever expected. In the end of any post I have to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry for me is a constant learning curve that I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.
