Where Science Meet’s Sound

Whilst spending the past few days stuck in a period of no inspiration. This had me captured and left me striving to find something to compose and still have something worth publishing here on the blog.

This had me sitting down to write without anything to begin with. What resulted was something that came from my mindset surrounding a hearing disability and the loss of hearing, outside of wearing hearing aids.

At first life without the aids, where hearing loss at times leaves one with the loss of hearing such basic sounds as children at play, or the simple task of hearing a water fountain in full flow. Then combine this with Science and technology that brings us hearing aid’s. BUT all is never Glory, because the overwhelming sensation of sounds that one may not have heard either ever’ OR in years.

This here is what I ended up speaking of in today’s poem. I have written on hearing loss in the past, but I wanted to try and take the reader on a journey to place where no or little sounds was the game, then on to wearing hearing aids and often the overwhelming sounds that come forward and at times one wishes for times without the aids to again taste the silence.

This is where a reader should find the poem speaking.

Having said all of this, Please Enjoy this Poem:

Where Science Meets Sound

Footsteps fall silently where many stood,
Here Children rush about just as they would.
Their laughter muted, nothing heard at all,
Hearing catches nothing the unheard call.

Buskers on the street corner still silent,
A fountain flows clear an unheard movement.
Whispers linger for some this unheard song,
This silent world stands lonely and e’er strong.

Far from technology sides differ now,
Games of give and take yet much to allow.
Cancel the silence adventures surround,
Step about to do the round, check the sound.

A million moments later silence calls,
Climb the lonely walls looking past the halls.
Stuck in silence swells where comfort thus sells,
Cast some spells and save the bells nothing smells.

When years yet remained in lonely silence,
Custom walked unaware of the balance.
Portions required to survive past the sound,
That crossed the balance where science can be found.
