Through Broken Clouds

Continuing as usual with another Poem I offer you this little Poem below.

However I do Offer One little statement of which I will call Authors Note. before you read the poem.

(I am experimenting on a number of posts without or with as little said about the poem in question. As one who believes in learning as I write, I will be interested in feedback as always)

Author’s Note

Through Broken Clouds is a little offering to anyone who has loved and lost, and to those who carry that memory within the folds of their heart. I wrote this thinking of the long winters we who ponder long hours and endure within ourselves, and Thinking of the slow, gentle moments when the rains finally ease and the light returns. It is for the tender space where sorrow softens and the courage to love again begins; for you, who may be waiting beneath your own clouds.

Through Broken Clouds

(For all who seek love beyond the rain.)

Recent rains hide the piercing pain felt,
Inside an inner crevice that long had dwelt.
No sweet songs of skylarks singing bright,
Could lift life’s long pains painted in flight.

In a wondrous world to choose and roam,
No warmth of sun could call him home.
Ne’er eased a heartache’s long-lost, love divine,
Through seasons seen, gone by design.

Winter’s winding rains hid tears and fears,
A lonely loss loosed o’er many years.
Yet ‘neath the weeping willows’ wane,
He heard her voice within the rain.

“Release,” it whispered, soft yet sure,
“The grief that binds, let love endure.”
Through broken clouds a beacon gleamed,
Of love once lost yet, now re-redeemed.

So Spring then stirred the silent seed,
To heal the heart where hopes still bleed.
And gentle joy, through grief begun,
Bloomed bright beneath the morning sun.

  1. 🌧️ Through Broken Clouds is a beautifully tender meditation on grief and renewal. The imagery of rain and winter as metaphors for sorrow is deeply evocative, and the gentle emergence of spring mirrors the quiet resilience of the heart. I especially loved the line:

“Through broken clouds a beacon gleamed, / Of love once lost yet, now re-redeemed.” It captures the essence of hope returning after loss so poignantly. Thank you for sharing this emotional journey—your words offer comfort to anyone who’s ever waited beneath their own clouds.

      1. That always seems to be the way it is, Pat! But in the end it’s worth it!!! Not everyone is blessed with a gift/talent to hear whispers from the Universe or Muses and put jumbled words together that come out so wonderfully penned!!! Congrats to You, My Friend!!!
