The Gambler’s Deal

This post I had hoped to post within the next couple of days. Which also will be a bust time for me and I intended having this Post go live when I was bust elsewhere. BUT things as they are, I am pushing this forward a day or so, because situations may not allow it as planned.

Todays post may direct readers to expect a poem in line with the Title, But If I were to state that This post continues on from the previous post on Loneliness. This post aims to strike a key with readers and how they react on certain occasions and how they deal with those elderly and the lonely.

Would you as a reader ever, recognise one who was climbing the hills of Loneliness? Would you be prepared to spend a few moments or a little time to them? If they were related or are aware a Loved one was in such a position, would you travel hours to be there for them in a time they need it most?

Simply put, this is where today’s Poem is aimed at Loneliness. But more so at the reader, At one point in time, That same cloak may reach you in the fullness of time!

About The Poem:

Loneliness is something that strikes more people than we ever care to accept. Also in the elderly, it strikes even more! Especially in a fast paced Society, we as people forget those who are pushed to the edges of society and are outcast.

Yet when that shoe reaches your feet, would you not wish for a voice to speak with you or one with whom you are made to feel worthwhile? This Poem seeks to have folks consider the fatesof those you love or know very well.

This Poem is simle paced and is laid out to be a very simple read with a topic that I hope will have the reader consider a few issues.

There is not much else to write on this, to explain even more except.

Having said this, Please Enjoy This Poem:

The Gamblers Deal

For With eyes that refused to cry,
He sits watching for time to pass by.
As these hallways spoke of days past,
And replay them from first to last.

For who spies those eyes in disguise,
Filled with love and life that still rise?
For few dare delay, a moments care,
Past the walls that time has laid there.

For who yet spied his shaky display,
As age did take so much away.
Slow to step as he shuffles by,
Did you greet him or give a reply?

This cloak of aged is soon for you,
But time denies this, waits to view.
The shuffled walk is yours to see,
That play to shoot and disagree.

For the price of regret will cost,
No one has ever replied and bossed.
Picture for you, or loved one too,
The gamblers deal may cut the crew.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing or writing poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on and my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always work to improve. A lot of work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until I am happy with the result. This is how I operate in creating posts to share here.

  1. Wonderful! You’ve got me thinking about loneliness. As a person who enjoys solitude, I have rarely explored the feeling of loneliness. I do believe that love cures loneliness, not just demonstrated love or compassion, with or without pity, that we give or receive from others but also love of self and an inner love that expresses in such things as the love of art or sports or animals or books or writing whatever, even a generalized love of life for all the moments of living in peace with your own mind and heart for example. Aloneness does not necessarily equate to loneliness- that empty and discontented feeling with varying nuances that may accompany it such as the ‘woulda, coulda, shoulda’ thoughts and regrets. I do believe that souls can also explore such feelings as loneliness to simply understand them. So, thanks for inspiring these few thoughts! 💞

    1. Everything you said is very real and true.. My dad is elderly and usually was full of life and busy in his day. Now he lives at home alone, BUT also in a house that once vibrates with the life there was passing through the house. I am certain he hears those same sounds within, But as a diabetic for over 40 years he also experiences very low times as a result and obvious health issues never bothered him, I have discovered through him that Loneliness is very real. Love does heal all things and Love has that power to negate any effects loneliness would have.. Also lack of propper sleep can drive one to a low point that in itself effects all other areas.. I have seen loneliness from another area that surprised me at first.. Loneliness from within a large circle of friends.. also from within a circle of friends where one being quiet and rather shy.. Thus it does effect many in different ways. BUT for me it has been watching elderly, go through loneliness.. Like one elderly lady who has seen many on her street pass away from a variety of reasons, and thus now only a handfull remain and that sence of loneliness hits her there.. a strange one but again very real.. Thank you for such a comment..
