Beyond The Rainbow

As so often on times before, I begin a Poem with a Thought or a possible title. But on this occasion The whole idea grew in itself once the Poem was near completion. To explain, This Poem was first thought of as a Little fun concept as it were, to a Little Irish Myth. But this complete idea and fore story has a couple of parts that need explaining.

About The Poem:

The first thought of this idea came from spending a few moments looking at a Rainbow above us in this area. Then myself being irish, I remembered an Old Irish Myth that states; A Leprechaun would hide or bury Pots of Gold at the bottom of a Rainbow.

The True reasons where this fable comes from could have an umber of areas. But as Irish or More so Celts are Superstitious people, Or rather those I have been around are for the most part have that belief in their past. In reference to Gold at the bottom of a Rainbow has great meaning of going for Goals that are unatainable etc or dream beyond what is realistic.

Spending times as a Kid looking at a Rainbow in a search for the end of that samerainbow in a hope of finding the Gold there is a childhood memory that did have a whole lot of fun memories about this.

Therefore taking this myth a step forward, I wanted to write a Poem referencing this Myth, But in stead of looking for the end of a Rainbow, To have the reader instead Look beyond the rainbow, at a world where the Impossible becomes possible. Where dreams becomes realistic. But with a Fun intended aim in my mind, But my thought of fun in poetry 99 percent of the time goes well over the heads of folks, (again an Irish / Celtic trait of mine) Therefore I disposed of the fun side for this more general look.

I am a believer that ancient ways , stories etc should be preserved, along with ways and traditions of a Peoples. This is more important to me being Irish and so much a Celt that I can be. Therefore this Poem and Fable should have a little longer life with that in Mind. For this Poem, I am not bothered with the idea of a Fabled Leprechaun who bury’s his pot of Gold somewhere etc.. But the dream behind that and the idea of loking for a Place where dreams could come true.

Many will be swift to knock such a fable and would rather kill off such ways. But my reply to them would be just as swift and blunt, but being polite here is will just say “Believe what you want” because “Here we will keep beliefs and fables alive for artistic reasons” and in personal reasons much more beyond that.

But if you can imagine such a story when reading this Poem, I know that you will then be in a great position to enjoy this Poem.

I do hope that I have explained as best as I could the reasons and story behind this Poem.. Therefore Having said all that I can say on this topic; Please Enjoy This Poem

       Beyond The Rainbow

Beyond the rainbow, are fields of Gold,
Secrets there seen, and stories told.
A land ne’er cold and colours made,
To bloom as flowers that never fade.

Beyond the rainbow, dreams come true,
Leaving nought lacking, that ever grew.
No tears then shed or heartaches mend,
Nor lonely days for lack of a friend.

In fields thus gold, where love does grow,
And the skies, not silver will glow.
Where in this place, no sorrow found,
As cold and darkness, pass all sound.

In this land of gold, yet so bright,
As all souls will e’er find their light.
And yet the journey shall be long,
It will be love, that doth belong.

Seek not the end, of a rainbow,
For that Gold then, shall ever show.
Past the beauty, beyond the curve,
The fields of gold, is pure yet to serve.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, that is composing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.
