The Beacon

Introduction:

I am certain that in most poets work, they will come upon days where a poem just cannot appear to fit or settle in our minds as to how we would like for such a poem to be read and appear. Todays poem is one such day and definately one such poem.

I will not shy away from the fact that this will be amongst the poorest in my view. And this will be most likely the worst from any of my picking through poetry. But either way I am placing it here, because I believe that it has a message for folks.

There are times when we as poeple lose our way, and get lost. If it were in Life in general or in Faith, regardless we do end up taking paths in life that leads us to places where we get lost and lose sight of what was set before us. This is where todays poem should appear to be set.

In europe and most definately suicide is a major issue whichfor the most part has been ignored by those in charge as it were. A sad fact is a short line many use is “It’s one less number for them to care or worry about”. But fact is us as people should have risen way above such train of thoughts and set beside those who need help. This is where this poem should be set towards.

About The Poem:

As stated above this poem was written with the thought of aiming readers thoughts towards those who may be in need of a helping hand. On May 1th here in Ireland (and I am uncertain if any other country has this or if it is Ireland only), We have an anual “Darkness into Light”. A walk that begins before dawn and finishes in daylight, thus the name Darkness into Light. A walk that is supposed to be a beacon of light to those who need it.

Yet my thoughts are, how many are wearing their deeds publically, on their sleves. Rather than being that actual guide to those who may be in need. From experience, folks who are in dire need are not always seen easily or ever wish to. Thus we need to learn to speak to tose about us, in case one is one who is in dire need.

Either way, todays poem was written for this in mind, But I am deeply unhappy with how it appears for me and it is one of those poems that will not alter much more, without losing much of what needs to be said.

Thus having said all that. Please Enjoy this Poem.

The Beacon

In the twists and turns of fate's dark maze,
I lost my way, ... thus all in a blaze.
Those paths once known, now stood alone,
Left all in doubt, where sun ne’er shone.

As the winds howl, trees then shall sway,
I wander lost, through night's dark play,
Stars from above lights , a distant sight,
That a beacon lost, in an endless night.

When thorns they prick, and briars they snare,
And feet still bleed, with a heart shed bare,
The weight of loss, no roads to cross,
Some heavy burdens, thats hard to gloss.

But still to wander, both wild and free,
For in the night, the moon's pale glee,
One light that guides, a beacon bright,
A promise kept, an endless fight.

And Losing my way, With all my might,
I find my heart, and soul, my light,
In this darkness, a glimmer of hope,
That beacon shines, the guiding light slope.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, This is my journey through composing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

In writing poetry some topics will either offend folks or a reader either may agree with a point or disagree with. I am Perfectly OK with how folks feel on some Poetry, even if they disagree with my views. But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry for me is a constant learning curve that I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.
