Another Sleepless Night

Introduction:

Following recent trends, I followed what was on my mind and composed today’s poem. Which I believe to be rather interesting to say the least. But I also know that what I rate as good may very well become less liked as it were by readers of my posts.

But have you sat and even lay awake all night, chained as it were to another sleepless night. Or have you taken in the sights and sounds of that same sleepless night, while the rest of the world about you slumbers almost with ease.

This is where today’s poem comes in and tries to display what such a night is. The slow movement of the clock and time almost at stand still, One finds entertainment that breaks the stillness of the night.

The smallest sight and most minute thing of the night becomes entertainment for a time on such a night. This is where this poem takes hold and should carry the reader off for a few moments.

About The Poem:

When reading this poem, imagine if you can a two story house in a sleepy location still and deep into a night. One person stands at a window gazing out into the night.

What you read in the poem is an example what that person sees and hears throughout that night. It is my hope that the reader is carried away with the poem as they read it. This is what I hope what this poem should do at ease, If Not, then I hope that reading it was an enjoyment.

It is worth pointinmg out from my viewpoint, as one who is hearing Impaired and hearing aids are rechargable and are always set to recharge over night. Thus I have pretty much forgotten what the smaller and tiniest sounds one hears in a night, have been unheard by me for a number of years now. Thus I could not write much of those sounds, when I could not relate with ease.

But I still hope that the reader fgills in such sounds that I could not relate in this poem. But I believe the reader’s mind will carry them off on a night they are aware of and fill in the blanks for this poem.

Having said all of that: Please enjoy this poem:

Another Sleepless Night

The moonlight weaves, shadows dance once more,
A welcome sight after the rain's downpour.
Gazing upon reflections in the pool nearby,
Lonely sights adorn this silent sky.

Dogs' distant barks carried on the breeze,
Breaking the night's stillness with ease.
Nothing stirs in this chamber of gloom,
Sleep eludes, casting its relentless doom.

Ensnared in this cycle of sleepless nights,
My mind's prison, devoid of respite.
No burial nor rising with the moon's light,
Thoughts swirl, lost yet silent in the night.

Lost in reverie, the night's spellbinding trance,
The silence roars, yet the brightness enchants.
Sparkling ripples in the pool, a captivating sight,
Distracting from the emptiness of the night.

Through the near silence, the night's unrest,
Moonlight's disturbance, a troubled guest.
In slumber, my mind's wanderings freely roam,
Another sleepless night, in solitude at home.
