Rain’s Disguise

Sitting at home and sheltered watching a passing storm , got me thinking and thus imagining past walks in rain soaked areas, conscious of how others may appear. As we rush about our day’s in rain soaked areas, we so often fail to notice the lonely eyes that pass us by. Also we fail to hear the lonely or heart broken sighs of those we pass by.

As one who lived days and nights through depression and heart break I am connscious of how others may feel in these days as I pass them by. But as one with a Hearing Disability I am also conscious of not hearing what folks say. Thus more times than I would care, I pass in silence to avoid the awkward silence that often follows when conversing with folks who struggle with a disability.

Thus todays poem is keeping such in thoughts as I also strive to add other stuffs to this poem. The beauty of sight and sound that is just beyond our ears can be seen and heard IF one pauses long enough to both see and hear where possible.

We live in a world of great beauty that also possesses much of the darker sides of life. Much of which we fail to see or hear. This is why todays poem carries so much in it, a little reminder to catch such whilst we can. It is never too late in life to capture such beauty and in turn a friendly smile to a lonely face, can add much much more.

Having said all of this, Please Enjoy this Poem:

Rain’s Disguise

Watching raindrops collide it’s here I hide.
Yet almost hypnotised by the sound here,
Where the sound carries, clear beyond the ear.
A ship to steer past the weir, there appear

Walking alone beneath these lonely skies,
Shivering in the rain fall no one cries.
Passing faces rain soaked disguising tears,
Where everyone looks the same, no one cheers.

Sheltered under trees just watching the world,
Thoughts and feelings get tossed and turned then twirled.
Like autumn leaves that start to fall to end,
Their cycle no more, no chore to attend.

Birds grow silent sheltering up on high,
The trees appears to sigh beneath to dry.
No blind eyes see the lonely tear appear,
On one who passes by with disguised cheer.

The deaf ne’er hears a lonely cry, or try,
A candle in the wind will cease and die.
Love lost or provision tossed lies judges,
Sheltered hands behind windows plain smudges.
