Loves Captivity

After a number of mishaps that has kept me busy and feeling like I have been going in circles as it were. I have finally completed this poem for today, of which I had planned for a couple of days ago. But such are the ways and often plans set aside can carry ne in directions where we would rather not venture into at that point.

I am one who likes to have things set out in order and then feel rather happy when all fits into such order. Yet when things go astray I am rather in so much of a mess that Such a poem can feel like a chance.

Thus todays poem, although set to what I wish it to be, I hope it has the result I wish it to have. But such can have the surprise element as it were. Todays poem is about that, a Love that captures one’s heart. Where by chance suitors all but strive to impress or win this love. Yet in the end one finds they are captive to this love and may yet lose any such battle for this love. OR do they? This is where imagination should carry the poem along.

Having said all of this, Please Enjoy this Poem:

Loves Captivity

Your smile is brighter than the morning sun,
No web was spun to capture one or none.
Suitors battle for your heart, yet you pass,
Showing some brass wandering by, pure class.

Your eyes they sparkle like the brightest star,
One smokes a cigar or flash off their scar.
But fail to capture your eye and thus lose,
Others stand to sing the blues, you defuse.

If lost in moments of despair, you’ll care,
And will swear to lighten the days prayer.
Oh, Light of love come stand beside this soul,
The biggest goal to have you near and stroll.

I sit and watch the knights at play and fail,
To win your heart, or slyly land in jail.
Favour remains with one who bides his time,
So my feeble mind yet states still in rhyme.

Awaken heart of mine from slumber deep,
This loves light cast her spell, the cost ne’er cheap.
My heart now slumbers deep in her loves snare,
What shall save me from this affair. I stare.

    1. Hi Bridgette, I knew that some had been having issues with writing comments due to a WordPress issue, so I was not expecting many comments.. Thus I am pleasantly surprised to find your comments.. In relation to this poem I had been working on creating lines like that one to make or least try to make poetry more appealing etc. Thank you.
