Finding Inspiration for Poem Writing

I was about to share a brief tip about creating a poem from seemingly nothing. This can be useful when the ability to compose a poem seems to have left you temporarily. Instead, I am sharing my Five Cents worth views. These ideas can be used for such a time or to explore creativity in poetry.

Creativity in Poetry:

When one use such creativity in Poetry? In short and in simple terms, Any where anytime. In my view, there are no limits to human creativity. Using creativity in Art has always gone hand in hand. For many years, I believe that creativity has been lost in composing a poem. It has also been left out. Deciding to leave creativity out of the art of composing a poem is Limiting the entire experience. My view is simple and plain. Whatever it takes to grasp a reader’s eye when reading your poem is a great step. This is a step into creating a great piece of art.

Adding descriptions into your poetry can enhance a poem , just my views again in this. Yet when I compose a poem, I draw from reading many poems by some of the greats in Poetry. As one improves how to describe where one is seated, it further grasps a person’s imagination. It catches them for a journey that we, as poets, will take them on. How a river flows through a land or How a treeline looks and acts when wind blows etc.. All captures and sets a mood for a poem.

Where to Find Inspiration :

When stuck in a rut as it were, in finding an inspiration is for a Poem. Is a rather empty place for a Poet. This is especially true for myself, As I enjoy the process. I love the writing and rewriting when gearing for the finished product. Inspiration is everywhere. Material for a poem can be right before your eyes. It is ready for you to give it light. You can find it in someone’s Post. It can also be discovered within a lyrical Preface to a poem. This was the case after my last post. Someone spotted a potential Poem in the Preface I had composed for the poem “Steadfast Light.” This gentleman let me know of his discovery. His creation is below as an example. My thanks to Chuck for the Example and for the Suggestion to write this Article also.

STEADFAST LIGHT - PREFACE AS A POEM

There are loves
that arrive like lightning,
loud,
luminous,
and swiftly named.

And there are loves
that linger
like morning light,
unnoticed at first,
yet faithfully returning.

This is not a tale of roses
pressed between pages,
nor of grand gestures
set before watching eyes.

It is the remembrance,
of a love
that walked quietly
through ordinary days,
that chose steadiness
over spectacle
and built its brightness
not in a single moment
but in many.

I watched them pass
through seasons and years,
and learned
that the truest love
does not seek
to be seen.
It simply remains.

From Anywhere:

The inspiration that you seek is found anywhere, It is from a Word or Sentence that someone spoke. Or it comes from a Line that you read, Everything and anything is a potential poem. The challenge becomes , Taste, style etc. In my opinion I would suggest that, You be prepared to compose from a thought or Dream.

Everything goes in this world that is creativity, it comes down to your taste in the end at that point. If learning is your road in life, Which I walk in. Then try learning what is found and use what you learn to adapt into your poetic creation. I use anything and everything as a tool to learn from. At the end of the day, I create my own Poetry.

In finishing this Little post, I hope that even a little piece of this becomes useful for you. Be aware and be ready to create. Do not be afraid to experiment or adapting to create a poem. There are never failures in Poetry But Material in which to use for Poetry in the future. Most important of all if you enjoy Composing Poetry, have fun.

Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing or writing poetry. Life is a journey we all walk on. My journey in creating poetry is unique to me. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times, I experiment with techniques to improve my poetry. So, feedback is always welcome for experiments like these.

When I write poetry, some readers will be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.
