Winners Game

For today’s Post I wanted to create from nothing a little story within a poem of a search for Love and the search to belong to something. Both of which can exist both in the same place as it were. Today’s Poem is set in a smal town, Imagine an old small dusty town, where nothing much happens or takes place. Where pretty much everyone knows what everyone is doing and thus know what each are up to.

Having being one who was born and raised in a small town and a country location, My love and yearning to return to such a life is heavy on my heart. Thus combining such in a poem basing the location in a small dusty streets of a small town, along with an unmatched beauty who almost strokes the delights and desires of young suitors. None of whom could win her affection but the Poet within the Poem.

For me a Poet had to be the hero as it were to win the day. BUT the only win was Love , companionship, all that goes with Love, also for a Love in a small country dusty town. Even though my creative mind had this setting within a small Irish town. It could be set anywhere in this beautiful world that has a small country town.

About The Poem:

As stated above today’s Poem was created with a little story in mind, an unknown story, even to me, But creating a Love tale within a Poem that captures the reader to follow along was my desire. Composing and editing this poem has taken a couple of days, because of situations that arise when composing, thus I hope the poem still flows as I see it, but Also using a Poet to ring the bell at the final tone as it were I felt should make the end point.

My composing this Poem, was also done to let enough within the poem for those who analyse Poetry or who do complete analysis on a poem. I aimed to have enough there to leave any doing such on this poem, should indeed find enough to chew over.

A Lot of wide thinking and deep intended thoughts into such a poem and my wihs is that it is enjoyed. It all have been created using the same set up most of my poetry has resulted in.

Winners Game



She sweetly delights artists strokes,
With Smiles that delight most old folks,
Street corners that mirror the rest,
Where each request she denied the best.


Dusty dirty small town streets find,
Little to excite she does remind,
This beauty shines from every pore,
In the eyes that speakers score.


Suitors seek to walk beside hoping,
To win her prize or losers coping,
Within the queue hopers design,
Wandering the line of her shrine.


Fear filled stutters walls to climb,
Fighting pride winds own weathered time,
For eyes that sparkle bright inside,
A shining beacon thats my guide.


Poets pen the creators tool,
Put to reason and rhyme this jewel,
A winners game in small town shame
Walking beside this only aim.

Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing or writing poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on and my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.
