The Whispering Wind

Today I return to a topic that has struck a nerve with me as I set about striving to better a Poem relating to Dementia. I wanted to work on gaining the thoughts and emotions etc of one who becomes struck with Dementia. But memory loss is something that struck deep within me and at a very personal basis.

There is not very much to add to provide greater insight to this poem, Because I want to also provide even more ground for imagination to lean the reader on this road of discerning this Poem.

I wanted to experiment on providing much less information of the poems background except that it is relating to Dementia and one persons attempt to create a poem from the other side as if from within the lines of one with such a condition.

About The Poem:

As stated above Today’s Poem is relating to Dementia and seeks to provide a picture from inside one who struggles with this. How successful I am to all on this I cannot tell, Yet it has been a journey that was an enjoyment from start to finish.

I wished to keep information to a minimum and see what effects it has on how this poem is read. Thus I haave to ask: Does the fact that much less was provided to the poems background etc, Improved, helped or Hindered in this Poem? Did it help or make it harder to understand etc.

Creating Poetry that causes the reader to think or ponder on the issues addressed in the poem is something I enjoy, thus I wish to improve on that part also. Therefore if you enjoy such poetry, future poems should be interesting, especially if they come off exactly as I wish them to be completed.

Having said all of this; Please Enjoy This Poem:

(( Normally I use a Photograph to try and show a brief glimpse into a Poem I composed and give credit to the creator of the photograph here. BUT today I have done a little different and used AI to create an image from the Poem in question toi help in this . Which is best?))

The whispering wind

With weathered breath he stands alone,
To ponder yet memory flown,
Nothing known if the wind did turn,
Discerning voices ne’er to burn.

Clear Crystal tears hung from above,
Coming to push or shove that glove,
Could not hold memories heavy load,
Thus crashed out on that lonlely road.

Tough the worn threads envelope within,
Where memories caught a tail spin,
Fumbling and rumbling through spaces,
Dissolving faces lost places.

The Silent shattered mirror loses grip,
Beyond the chasms of his ship,
Blank faced to recall hits a wall,
Where fading echoes cannot stall.

The whispering wind soon washes o’er,
Traces of forgotten cares get slower,
With each step losing ground on life,
Has this carriage been worth the strife?

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing or writing poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on and my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feed back is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always work to improve. A lot of work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until I am happy with the result. This is how I operate in creating posts to share here.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.
