Dreams for Pillows

The above title was part of the only words I had to begin todays poem with. At the time I did not imagine that it would become a Title for this same project.

I say project for this because the starting idea was to work on creating a Poem or poems, without using what I call “Filler Words”. Folks will know those words that often either fill a sentence or act as a tie between two other words in order to keep the flow going. Right now I am not doing very well as explaining this, but I wanted to write poetry without such words and strive to make more memorable poetry in turn.

Thus it will be plain to see how I managed in this effort, But It will take more work for certain.

About The Poem:

This post happened from an exercise to compose poetry without what I call “Filler Words”, OR at least cut down on their use to a point that poetry would become more memorable. Such was my hope anyway, but the question on if I succeeded or not or again IF it improved, will be down to readers to answer. In the end it is the poem at the end that has been fun to work on.

And edit, then edit again and again, until it reaches a point where it feels right for me…

In relation to the Poem, It worked out far different to what I started out with and also took a path I did not intend for this poem. Yet as I believe , let the Poem go where creative elements etc takes it and thus we have it where it is. That means, I wished for another path for this poem, BUT allowed creative juices to flow on its own as it were.

The Poem tells of a man whose love is no loner around, BUT if she died or left? That was never decided, But the use of certain terms like “Tomb” is to substiture for what It feels like to have lost someone, a lonesome, lost room that no one visits but HE himself. Also “Ghostly Figures” are from his memory and may well be loved ones who know the strife he has been through. Also “The Lonely Room where Love had died” is his life itself, Love has gone from his side thus in many ways has died leaving him lost and feeling like it was a physical death.

I hope this explains this poem and I also hope this poem fits what I hope it would be, an enjoyable read or at least almost as it was fun for me working on this.

Having said all of this; Please Enjoy This Poem:

Dreams for Pillows

This raging river of tears cried,
Flow past mountains standing beside,
Green valleys where flowers still bloom,
To an empty room now his tomb.

Heartaches here shaking ground for all,
Lay darts scattered about his stall,
From mothers first kiss on his brow,
To those first fields that he did plough.

Ghostly figures throughout his life,
Pay homage then for all his strife,
As memories of broken pride,
This Lonely room where love had died.

Earthquakes of emotions strikes where,
Lost souls of love will, yet compare.
Hidden tears he cried, no one dared,
Count the cost his love, that thus shared.

Dreams for pillows held pockets for love,
And Memories blanket above,
To cover his tears, yet so clear,
As Heartaches like earthquakes come near.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing or writing poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on and my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always work to improve. A lot of work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until I am happy with the result. This is how I operate in creating posts to share here.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.
