The Reason

Following a period of a lot of distractions that divert thoughts etc from what I needed to be completed, I stumbled upon the topic for Todays Post. That is “The Christmas Season”. At the very least for all who view themselves as Christian, This should be a key thought, especially when one walks streets and shopping districts, Such would never be in the minds of anyone living through this.

This is also where one could insult a few people, But The question of: what is the True Reason for Christmas? Would always be somewhere in peoples mind at some point over this season. If it is NOT then you are in a good place for yourself!

About The Poem:

In a time where commersial activity has been centered around spending hard earned cash, or borrowing cash to purchase Gifts for others. But why do People buy gifts for others at this time? Most may say it’s about the season or the season that is in it.

As a Christian, I cannot help thinking about this question! Why? and what is the true reason for Christmas? The answer in this post should be the TRitle “Christmas” itself, “Christ” .. “mas” . If That is Not Clear then the folowing would be “He who was Born a few thousand years ago”.. Although It may have not been at this time, BUT it is celebrated at this tme!

IN Todays Poem I wanted to set this question up and stated in as simple a manner as possible. But neither for insult or anyother reasons that would cause peoples negative reaction, BUT it is about more than that and often more simple than others would think also.

It is Not meant as a Religious Poem, But it is a Poem that both questions and suggests what the answer is! All too often the key things are forgotten many times and we often can fail to notice what it is about.

The Reason



In the quiet stillness of the night,
High in the sky, a star shines bright.
A Baby born in a stable, low.
The reason for Christmas, this we know. 


Not the presents under a tree,
Or the carols, sung with such glee.
Not the lights that twinkle and glow,
But a baby born, so long ago. 


He came to bring us Peace and Love,
To show the way, to seek from above.
He taught us love, forgive and to be kind,
This reason for Christmas, we find. 


No matter the struggles, pain or fear,
His message made clear, so all to hear.
With joy and peace, to lend a hand,
To care for each other and understand. 


Thus, we gather with loved ones near,
Remember the reason, to hold dear.
It's not about what we receive,
But the love and hope we believe. 


Yet in the hustle and bustle, clear,
We forget the reason for Christmas cheer.
And yet spreading love and brighten days,
Thus keep hearts open that displays.

Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing or writing poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on and my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.
