One would not be blamed for thinking todays Post was regarding or about “A Lady”, given the Title of “This Lady”. But on this occasion one would be incorrect to assume it would be regarding a Lady. BUT in fact Todays Post is about The Land! or to be more exact “This Land”, That for me is This Land Of Ireland. But for you it can be where ever you feel it best suits.
(TO add on a Personal note: I write here as I would speak to anyone in reference to todays Post. It is a habbit of mine to write as I would speak for the most part which I hope will further explain how this may appear as you read this)
About The Poem:
In Celtic Mythology, Especially in Ireland (as I have always read and understood) there was a Trinity of goddesses, Eiru or more modern name Eire and her sisters, Banba and Fodla. The name Eire was given to this Island, Ireland and the rich history and cultures including the Celtic language (Irish) is most important to me. Especially as I grow older and I realise how important for us to know and see where our ancestors have come from and believe. Also the language is in my Opinion one of the most beautiful languages there are.
There have been writers and Poets who compared the land to a Lady or as I saw it as a Most Beautiful Lady. In taking it this way, I love this country, This Land and This Island and it’s culture that runs deep. Therefore for todays Poem, I wanted to create a Poem and word it in a way that compares the land, to a Lady. But also speaking of Both as one and the same.
I write this because we live in a time where many come from other culture’s and lands to this island. BUT Not many of them either respect our ways, Culture OR Our language. Also there are beliefs that would not think twice about wiping such from history. BUT 700 years of Colonial rule under another power did not succeed in wiping this out. The language is in trouble and needs to be preserved at all costs.
Therefore in the last number of years I have been learning this Celtic Language Irish, which I never bothered or was interested until recent years and now view it as one of the most beautiful languages.
Yet for todays Poem This Land is Ireland and also is This Most Beautiful Lady all in one.. It is not a Poem to honour any goddess or any fabled celtic god. BUT it is to Honour this Land, This most Beautiful Land that is Ireland. I have tried to make this poem fit into that which I have it appear here, but my passion for what I write about o this topic often over rides…
But for one to know more about todays, Poem it is simple, this Land, outside of the concrete jungle that are cities, the most beautiful countryside. This is where you will find the poem and others that have been written, in the land itself as you look around you.
Having said all of this; PLEASE enjoy this Poem:

This Lady
In this gentle sway of green hills,
Where soft sunlight spills o’er and thrills.
A countryside, that yet breathes life,
Here this lady lays, away from strife.
Each valley calls, with a whisper,
Wildflowers bloom, but the air crisper.
Bursts of colour, splashes of joy,
Like laughter that dances to employ.
The rolling fields stretch like a quilt,
Where cattle graze without guilt.
Content as the heart so in love,
Finding rest as a hand in glove.
The rivers sing us, sweet love songs,
As love to the heart, yet belongs.
Complete and finding its own path,
Through valleys carved, by time’s own wrath.
When the rains fall, it kisses the earth,
Like whispered secrets shared at birth.
This rhythm of life, yet holds you close,
A tender embrace, cherished at most.
Walk with me, o’er this land and spy,
Feel how love grows, not to deny.
Here in the quiet countryside,
With this endlessly beauty applied.

ENDING THOUGHTS:
Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on and my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.
At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.
When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.
But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.
I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.
Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.
Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.

Lovely words, beautiful Ireland, when I read the name Eire, it gave me shivers of delight. I don’t recall seeing that name of ‘The Lady’ elsewhere so thank you. You honour her with your poem.

Thank you. Eire / Eiru was one of the Celtic Trinity of goddesses that ancient celts believed in. That name Eire was given to the land or Island of Ireland. It is that same island I honour, and of course I live there. (LoL). It is something i wanted to write on for sometime. again thank you.
