These Hills

Todays Post was delayed for a day or so due to some personal issues that needed looking after. The Poem I set to compose was brought about from a thought of what I call my home area ( the area where I was born and spent so much of my early life). The gentle hills and winding, twisting roads that seems to flow like streams through out the area. It is an area I have been spending a lot more time in recent weeks in, As my Father has spent his entire life there, yet as I get to spend an afternoon with him driving quiet country roads and lanes around this area, It brought me to think of there for todays poem. BUT as a Love Poem.

About The Poem:

As this poem comes from myself, spending time in my home area. Also combining images from this area with a love Poem. All in my effort to Perfect in my view, my ability to compose a Love Poem.

This area, is mostly rural, with small towns and villages scattered about the place. With my home town as one of the bigger towns in that area. Most of the roads are not even listed as secondary roads, but country roads and lanes. These are also the same roads that I learned to drive on and also spent my youth nad young adult years about before marriage carried me away from there.

Therefore this area I love and enjoy driving my father who is in his late 80’s around , on one afternoon each week. It also brought to mind old loves etc, into thoughts and how I could use such for poetry. Yet the love in this Poem is NOT real! But has been a guide to use on the poem.

There is not much more to use on this here, except to finish by saying: Having said all of this, Please Enjoy this Poem:

       These Hills

Far from the gentle hills of home,
Or those curves and bends I would roam.
Where youthful passions wandered past,
For seasons vast there, without contrast.

Yet who would then compare to Rose,
No one knows her love or oppose.
It’s the fire of desire that blow,
Like no other, my heart did glow.

With eyes like fire and flowing hair,
To Love her I could ne’er despair.
For Stars and skies did align divine,
‘twas a love that defined this sign.

Though these hills so gentle and green,
Hold secrets, never seen yet keen.
These curves and bends, that still entwine,
This love that shine, like stars so fine.

The fire of desire, that consumes,
A Love so strong and lights these tombs.
In sweet delight my Love, yet screams,
Like a river and Loves like a stream.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on my little journey, that is composing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on and my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.
