Rivers of Deceit

As in the past number of posts, I have composed the following Poem using the same methods. But when this one was c ompleted, I have sat here asking myself just one question: “Just how the heck am I going to explain this poem?” I say that because this poem to me as I read it over has an appearance of a much more hard and more hard hitting Poem than I would have liked.

About The Poem:

To explain myself a little further, as the poem reached the finished product, I found this poem to be much more Harsh and harder hitting than I usually would have liked. Yet it contains a message that I believe should be food for thought to begin with..

IF one was in a relationship where a partner was full of Lies or Deceitful, or that a person was not being fully invested into a relationship, then it provides a relationship that at one point or another will be in deep water and in trouble.

If there were a person in a relationship that has been deceitful, then This Poem addresses them! Also If someone whom you know was being deceitful, ie someone in a position of power. Then this also will address that person!!

Also taking this poem on to another route and addressing the heart of a deceitful or a heart of one who has been full of lies. Then also this addresses them but it can be taken in any light where it touches the reader. I am always surprised how a person reads a porm and what they take from a poem.

Therefore if you have a different insight into a poem than which I understand, then I would love to hear from you. I also would love to hear and read what you find in these poems. Because every poem can be read and understood in a variety of ways.

Having said all of this; Please enjoy This Poem:

       Rivers of Deceit

Did you sail o’er oceans of Lies,
From the sinking ships, did you rise?
In rivers of Deceit why Stand?
Where flood waters surround this land.

As confusion reigns, will you drown?
Where water cascades, flows around.
As currents of deception, flow,
And trouble often, seen below.

Crashing tides with the underflow,
Hear oh, heart of lies, still you grow.
There standing thus on solid ground,
Your pious king has now been crowned.

There you cling, to lies you now sell,
This Ivory tower, where you dwell.
The rivers, of Lies and Deceit,
Flows, to bring yet home your receipt.

Here Standing, in the rivers clear,
Where truth and One shall wait, and hear.
The glaring vacuum in your heart,
Devoid to hold fires from the start.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, that is composing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.

  1. Wow! Says what needs to be said in such an impactful way!!
Always brings me back to the dilemma of if you know two people in a relationship should one stand silently by and say nothing if they know one party is being unfaithful? I’ve been on both sides and neither offered a good answer on whether to be silent or to speak up. Any ideas, advice?

    1. It truly is a rough spot to be in and one that could see an end to one or more relationships. But I am a believer in Truth is often a road best travelled But yet one that many will not want to take. yet there is no good way out of it. A hole dug by one may end up a hole that burries more than one in the end. But This has been a great topic to write on and I have been surprised how harsh this may appear to some. But still a good one.
