Old Skeletons

For a number of days I have been editing and re-editing today’s poem to find the finished product. But finally after days of this editing, I have found a finished product.

Introduction:

After days of editing and again re-editing I ended up with a poem that I am happy with. Although not to the standard of rhyming etc I like how it flows. But like any writer, what sounds beautiful within our minds, it often appears different to others who read it.

Today’s poem comes from a cross between an old memory and an active imagination that I have combined to create a thought that I have laid out in today’s poem. Imagine a Poem that takes an Old Love from years previous that has long since finished and takes a reader through memories of this old love whose memory still resides deep within.

I have strived to make this little journey as poetic as I possibly can. It is my hope that readers will enjoy this short journey.

About The Poem:

Today’s poem takes the reader on a little journey that speaks of a Love that still holds a special place deep within, but also a knowledge that this Love has long since finished. But left a love that lasts a life time.

I have a hope that folks sees this poem as I hope it is meant to be. But One cannot tell until folks read for themselves. If not it remains to find another home ina different poem. Therfore please let me know how you find this, I like to play about with stories, messages etc when I write. But not always does the finished product end as intended.

Having said all of this. Please Enjoy This Poem:

Old Skeletons

In depths of the soul, where memories reside
Lay longings strong, that cannot be denied.
For loves won and lost, yet ne’er found a home,
Where the First light that sparked a fire would roam.

The golden rays of thought, had shone so bright,
A beacon of light in the dark of night,
Yet soon are lost, - on the sea of love,
A fragile ship, from a storm above.

The waves of longing, - they crash and died,
This never-ending tide, that I cannot hide
An ache in my heart, it grows o’er the years,
Alone in the nights, - woes find my tears.

As thoughts of her laughter lasted, her smile!
How she made me feel, - like being worthwhile.
Gone with the years now, just a distant dream,
Left forever with this - heartache scheme

But holding firm, to memories that remains,
And someday, to be set free, of these chains
Yet in her soul, I saw something so true,
A life time of love, that still sees me through.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, that is incomposing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.

    1. This is exactly what I hoped that readers will find, when reading this poem. Many Skeletons people may have may not physical ones But of all other kinds. And often the hidden skeletons we carry could be the Chains that hold us back.
