Poisonous

I sat and pondered for some days on a topic in which to write on for today’s post. But only a topic I had pushed aside, in fear of opinions that WILL come.

Introduction:

Today’s poem I realise may cause a number of opinion’s that will not like some points that will arise within. In other words today’s poem will touch on a topic that may upset a few people. But my belief is that a poet must write on that which lays heavy on their hearts even if that runs against views of others. Such has been the path that Poets have walked for centuries.

Today is no different, I touch a little on a few topics, which I will try to explain here; (a) One such topic is the Cancel culture that runs to delete that which offends them, regardless of what others may feel or believe. (b) Another topic briefly touched on is a view or opinion by so called green activists who campaign on reduction of Cattle from Farms and lands, because what is often an ill thought out view that their waste would damage our environment or such like. And (c) the continued advancment of Cities onto landscape that shold remain as it always has been. Either in forrests or farm lands that are destroyed to further grow a city.

The reason behind these topics is to create a thought in minds of people also cause them to ask of themselves “Is it honestly ok and right to continue on this road” , also to have them ask “Is it ok to listen to views of those who so often have not thought through an issue or thus railroad their view through regardless?

About The Poem:

Todays poem, seeks to wander from topic to topic in a manner that I hope will flow with ease and yet spread seeds of thought to have the reader ask themselves such questions that rise within the poem.

Even though some may cause offense and also offend those with a train of thought, it is written to lay before folks that such may not always be the correct way forward.

Today’s poem has 5 stanzas that I hope flow as it feels for me as author and take the reader through a couple of different topics and in turn create a poem that should be an interest to read. I have set the poem in the same format as other poems I have written in recent times. BUT IF I Offend, it is Not to offend that I write, BUT to show that although I disagree with certain decisions, Ther has to be a different and more suitable way past this.

In the end I welcome thoughts, BUT If they Offend here, I may or may not delete the comment (this depends on the manner of the comment and insult received) Other wise I will let most stand within reason and wish to be positive.

Having said all of this; Please Enjoy This Poem;

Poisonous

The road to nowhere -- weaves it’s way,
Through a countryside where fields of gold sway.
As these skies of blue in truth yet completes,
For the changing landscape's - lines our streets.

For once-thriving fields delighted our eyes,
Decorate new streets, where unwise complies.
The cattle scattered - beyond hedgerows,
Stand Opposed, where views declares to dispose.

Could the poisonous seed be greed that feed?
Did hatred infest, forgetting they breed?
For the winds of change brought ignorant wage,
As the wise caught the stage past all outrage.

The sacrifice of the forgotten Lost
Where lands decorated at beauties cost,
Now lay forgotten, behind screens of need,
Thus barren and despised, this altered Seed.

The winds of time have swept - from the past,
Rewriting a legacy, for what last.
Delete what insults the weak hearted few,
Deny what grew to build in hearts that’s true..

ENDING THOUGHTS:

Thank you for following me on this journey, that is incomposing and creating poetry. If Life is a journey which we all walk on, then my journey in creating Poetry is a journey of it’s own. Which I still learn much on as I write.

At times I experiment on methods or way how I can improve my poetry, therefore getting feedback is always most welcome for such as these.

When I write poetry, some readers may be offended with something within the poetry. I do not write to offend, But such are written for reasons I outline in the posts. Often I miss typos and mistakes when publishing each poem. BUT I correct the moment I discover such mistakes.

But Poetry is a form of art work that I enjoy and thus using it in a manner to touch or inspire the reader.

I would like to Pass on my thanks to you for joining me on this journey.

Poetry is a learning curve where I always strive to improve. Often due to the speed of my typing and a few other issues, mistakes and typos will find their way into published posts. I continue to work on improving this as I move along. One such change is how I have been writing and how my poetry appears in relation to how the rest of the blog appears. So much work goes into editing and reediting and then repeating that process on a number of occasions until i am happy with the result.

Please forgive for any such mistakes and for your understanding this.

      1. I completely agree with the sentiments expressed here. If we weren’t skilled writers or poets, we wouldn’t face criticism. I’ve come to see criticism as a positive thing. Either we’ve spoken a truth that someone wasn’t ready to hear, or we’ve said something that holds someone accountable. Regardless, we must write what is in our hearts. Sometimes, at least in my experience, it’s the Lord speaking through us to deliver His message. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that God speaks the truth. If that truth offends someone, then “Lucy, you have some explaining to do.”
