Introduction:
Taking on a decision that I had made to slow down how I compose a poem, I started out the road to completing todays poem by not rushing too much. This is one that I worked in a variety of ways to fill my mind to occupy a mind that was set to rush to complete.
Sometimes one needs to slow down to find the real gem in what one would be working on. In simple terms, When a person slows down even a little, they could find a brighter and more precious picture before them.
Composing todays poem has taken one extra day to complete and even then I feel that it could have done with a little extra work. But at times one needs to leap in faith and let the piece flow out there. Thus the completed poem may not be as perfect as previous one may have been, but it does hold a picture for folks to ponder on.
About The Poem:
At first I had set out on the road to creating this poem, with one line in mind. In the end of composing it resulted with what was a poem surrounding a Love that faded and lovers drifted in different ways. But does one shed a tear on such a love gone and that last Goodbye still lingering in their mind. Or does one smile or laugh with precious memories flow through.
This is the basic bones of todays poem, how does one react when experiencing such an event? A Last Goodbye is Final and displays that is lost and gone, thus how to react and does one mourn for periods endless or does one hold to precious memories and laugh. yet in the knowledge that when Dawn’s first light, with it shall come a new day with new goals and fresh hope.
I felt it would be an Interesting sight to show from within a poem. Therefore my curiusity waits on what folks believe and think! If for noting else but the poem on it’s own, it is one that has benefit and a hint for better days.
IF the rains of dispair flows down on you, shelter and look for the dawns first light for brighter days ahead.
Having said all of this, please enjoy this poem:

The Last Goodbye
When rain filled skies and last goodbye’s cross lanes,
No tears in her eyes will surprise or stains.
Once laughter echoed about this lost cell,
Yet the still lonely silence that will tell.
Heartbreak called to lend an ear, I did hear,
With the spectre of a last goodbye near
Life can supply it’s own surprise and rise,
To memories, moments that wildly flies.
Eyes that sparkle like stars at night to light,
A lovers steps to her side, with delight.
Tonight clouds cover that once star filled sky,
For the dawn shall rise, new dreams to supply.
At dawns first light when once loves hearts did meet,
There shared dreams could compare, love will complete.
Would tears shed with the last goodbye and rain?
Or laughter rings lonesome lanes and remain?
Tears from sun filled skies rain firm on this soil,
As waters boil sad skies visit and spoil.
When tears should flow seek dawns first light to see,
Light does shine as a new day, yet dawns free.

Really loved this, Pat!! I think in time you will appreciate your new process. I have found, for me, that letting something simmer a day or two before declaring something finished has helped me – hopefully you too!! I think you have selected a really great tipping point in people’s lives and experiences that are very emotional and life changing.
There is a big difference – with some people – in the process they have and go through for – Letting Go! I think you could make a really good series 4-5 poems on the realization that things are over, how to “uncouple”, The Last Goodbye and Letting Go!!! Think it over???

I like your poetry. This poem makes me think of the recent storm that blew through my area for some reason. Like how storms come through and destory the old but refresh the soil and and water and then people can rebuild.
