Often in life scars that are left behind from past experiences, hinder us from finding a path forward. Or finding that place where the heart feels at home. That forms the basis of this poem. It is an attempt of mine to try to set a poem or more in time around such a topic. This is one such attempt.
As always I welcome any comments etc that you may feel is fit to make. I hope you enjoy this little piece of work.
Scars The cold hard heart stranded Within the limits it is handed. Hiding from that which warms The scars felt in darkened storms. The warmth that follows the lovers Breaks them free from the covers. That loves embrace sets free to be, Where their heart desires to see. The scars that hinders often binds The heart from sailing where love finds. Still the beating heart that seeks To find loves new port without leaks. Dare to wander through gates of fear To find what the heart desires to steer. Find fields of green to calm the troubled, Soul when storms clouds doubled. ©Pat Fitzgerald 2021
